\u201cIn a bid to control access to the Bertha Gxowa Hospital and to allow us the opportunity to screen each and every individual entering the facility we have implemented several new access protocols.\u201d<\/p>\n

These were the words of Thabile Mkhatshwa, communications and public relations officer for the hospital.<\/p>

\u201cThese measures have been put in place to try and ensure that our staff and the community are kept safe during this epidemic,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

The new measures include:<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2022 The hospital is now required to do a daily screening of all staff and members of the public entering the hospital.<\/p>\n

\u2022 All guests and staff entering the hospital need to enter through the main entrance.<\/p>\n

\u2022 It is mandatory to be screened before entering the hospital.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Members of the public and staff are required to cooperate with screening personnel and security.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Access of locked areas for waste removal and other support services will be facilitated by security.<\/p>\n

\u201cThese are some of the measures we have put in place to ensure we help stop the rapid spread of the disease,\u201d said Mkhatshwa.<\/p>\n

\u201cSecurity personnel will be strategically placed to assist.<\/p>\n

\u201cMembers of the public are expected to comply and provide their contact details and other personal information for tracing purposes during screening.\u201d<\/p>\n
