With the first iteration of the live online motorsport race bringing in more than 15 000 views on the live stream feeds, the official Facebook page reaching 356 791 people and receiving 52\u00a0971 post engagements, the organizers and sponsors were inundated with requests for a second round of the only live motorsport event to take place locally under lockdown conditions.<\/p>\n<p>Although the first charitable event concluded as recent as 15 April 2020, raising more than R20 000 for the Solidarity Fund, the organizers and sponsors wanted to keep the action going kicking off the next round on Thursday, 23 April with the hot lap qualifying sessions remaining open until 08h00 on Monday, 27 April. The semi-finals will take place from 18h30 on Tuesday, 28 April and will once again be streamed live on both the NEC Solidarity e-Race YouTube and Facebook pages. The grand final will take place on Wednesday 29 April where spectators can watch the live stream from 18h30.<\/p><div class=\"stream-item stream-item-in-post stream-item-inline-post aligncenter\"><\/div>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-51561\" src=\"https:\/\/kathorusmail.co.za\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/126\/2020\/04\/evening-2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"450\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It\u2019s amazing\u00a0how awesome the first live motorsport event played out and how much interest\u00a0it has generated\u00a0amongst the racing and gaming fraternity. It even drew on the attention of the management of Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit who contacted me to see how they can get involved. While sadly we are unable to host the event on the modernized circuit again, their interest shows you once again the power of Social Media when hosting an event of this nature. I can\u2019t wait to see what happens this time with the exciting new format that&#8217;s planned.
