Toyota has decided to offer all 2.8-litre GD-6 in two Epic variants, the Fortuner Epic and Fortuner Epic Black, the latter featuring black accents for a pronounced visual styling. On the exterior, the Epic sees the addition of a branded nudge-bar and tow bar while the Epic Black variants get 18-inch alloy wheels finished in black, black roof, black roof rails and black side-view mirrors.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-61342\" src=\"https:\/\/eyethunews.co.za\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/59\/2020\/04\/Fortuner-Epic-Rear-3_4.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"800\" \/><\/p><div class=\"stream-item stream-item-in-post stream-item-inline-post aligncenter\"><\/div>\n<p>The Epic Black variant can only be selected with the contrasting Glacier White paintwork while the Epic can be selected with Glacier White, Chromium Silver, Graphite Grey or Avant-Garde Bronze. Both variants see the addition of metal scuff plates and Epic-branded carpets. The leather interior, soft-touch dashboard, dual-zone climate control, smart entry and push start, touchscreen infotainment system with navigation, reverse camera,\u00a0TFT Multi-Information Display, blue Optitron instrumentation, cruise control, steering switches, power-adjustable driver seat and power back door remain unchanged.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-61343\" src=\"https:\/\/eyethunews.co.za\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/59\/2020\/04\/Fortuner-Epic-Carpet-Set.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"533\" \/><\/p><div class=\"stream-item stream-item-in-post stream-item-inline-post aligncenter\"><\/div>\n<p>Driver-aid and safety systems such as the ABS, TRC, VSC, BAS, EBD and Hill Start Assist (HAC) remains in place while four-wheel-drive variants see the addition of Toyota\u2019s A-TRAC off-road traction control logic and Downhill Assist Control (DAC. Bolstering this is the \u2018On-the-fly\u2019 selectable 2WD\/4WD\/4WD Lo. As mentioned these changes are only applied to the 2.8-litre GD-6 models with the 2.4 GD-6 and 2.7 VVTi Fortuner models left unaltered while the 4.0 V6 model is no longer being made.
