Many residents will be getting back into their commuting routine soon, which mean more traffic on the roads.<\/p>\n

With this in mind the SAPS has offered motorists some helpful tips for dealing with aggressive driving.<\/p>

The followings aspects might trigger aggressive behaviour:<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2022 Following too closely to the vehicle in front of you.<\/p>

<\/div>\n

\u2022 Passing a vehicle on the left.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Cutting in and out of traffic and failing to signal while engaging in multiple lane changes.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Crossing safety markings while merging onto ramps.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Failing to yield at ramps and intersections.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Violating railroad crossings.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Displaying or using a weapon.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Displaying aggressive or obscene gestures.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Slow moving traffic in fast lanes.<\/p>\n

The SAPS suggests that the community respond by:<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2022 Do not react to provocation.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Stay away from erratic drivers.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Avoid eye contact with an aggressive driver.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Use your hooter sparingly.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Do not flash your headlights.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Do not make obscene gestures.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Do not change lanes without using your indicators.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Do not drive too closely to the vehicle in front of you.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Do not block lanes.<\/p>\n
