Ho, Ho, Ho, Santa comes early to Elsburg<\/a><\/p>\n <\/p>\n
The TenderHeart Foundation was founded five years ago by three sisters, Lornette Joseph, Coral Bowler and Mandy Whitehead.<\/p>\n
They decided that Christmas should also be special for elderly members of the community, as well as the youth.<\/p>\n
\u201cEverybody talks about the youth and how children are the future, but I think that a lot of people forget where their past has come from,\u201d said Joseph.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe say thank you to our elderly for getting us to this point as without you we would not be here.\u201d<\/p>\n
The Hawks Gauteng sponsored the Christmas Cracker Project with toiletries for the Christmas gift bags which were filled with an array of goodies and handed out to the residents.<\/p>\n
\u201cJust like any other organisation in the country, we also have a social responsibility to give back to the community,\u201d said Capt Ndivhuwo Mulamu, communications officer for the Hawks Gauteng.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe partnered with the Christmas Cracker Project to acknowledge our senior citizens for the festive season and to celebrate the Christmas spirit.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are going to continue to form this working relationship.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe want to adopt school children in need and also have sustainable projects where the beneficiaries will gain a lot out of them.\u201d<\/p>\n
