If your insurance policy only covers household contents, then you should enquire if there is a policy that will cover your tech devices outside your home.

• Leaving tech devices unattended: If you are out and about, make sure your tech devices, such as your cellphone or tablet, are with you and not left unattended.

• Do not advertise your new tech product on social media for you never know who can be watching.

• Make security a priority in your home: Always check your doors are locked and windows are closed before you go to bed at night.

• Always keep your receipts and take a photo of the serial numbers of your devices.

This helps in case you need to make a claim if your tech device is stolen or
