Conor van Baalen from Brakpan is only six years old and each day he has to undergo 12 hours of dialysis.<\/p>\n

He is in desperate need of a kidney transplant and in order to have the life-saving operation his parents need to raise R500 000.<\/p>

Copper Canyon Spur Germiston heard of Conor\u2019s plight and will be holding a fund-raiser for him on November 1.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are proud to be joining hands with some of our generous suppliers to be able to make a difference,\u201d said Madeleine de Beer from Copper Canyon Spur.<\/p>

\u201cThe only way Conor will be able to play and run with his twin brother Kody is to receive a new kidney.\u201d<\/p>\n

Conor\u2019s parents, Hennie and Santie, told the GCN that Conor started medication for his kidneys when he was 18 months old.<\/p>\n

At two years old he underwent an operation and a kidney biopsy was done.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe was diagnosed with steroid resistant FSGS (focal segmental glomerular sclerosis), and the only way forward is a kidney transplant,\u201d said Santie.<\/p>\n

Copper Canyon Spur is urging the community to help towards Conor\u2019s kidney transplant by coming along on November 1 and ordering a meal.<\/p>\n

\u201cFifteen per cent of the takings from 5pm until closing on that night will be donated to Conor,\u201d said Madeleine.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere will also be lots of exciting hampers which will be raffled to raise extra funds.<\/p>\n

\u201cPlease come and support the evening and help us make a difference.\u201d<\/p>\n
