It is time once again, as winter turns to spring, for runners to tackle the annual Fred Morrison Half-Marathon.

This race, which is hosted by Germiston Callies Harriers, honours Fred Morrison, who was a well-known successful runner and a compatriot of Wally Hayward and Jackie Mekler.

Morrison was also the chairperson of Callies for many years.

The event will have two distances, namely a 21km and 10km race, with both categories starting at 7am.

Callies will also host a 5km fun run on the day, starting at 7.30am, which aims to raise funds for a worthy charity.

Callies announced that all proceeds from the fun run will be donated to the Germiston SPCA.
