Aiming to provide and improve the nutrition levels of children at the mercy of a 153 Early Childhood Development centres, the Volkswagen Group South Africa team and Rise Against Hunger managed to pack 40\u00a0000 meals over the weekend.<\/p>\n<p>The meals packed by the 125 volunteers will be able to provide the children with five meals a week for an entire year. The actions from the Show of Hands and Rise Against Hunger initiative will benefit Ntataise which is a non-profit profit organisation focussed on increasing the access and quality of ECD education for children from disadvantaged communities across South Africa.<\/p><div class=\"stream-item stream-item-in-post stream-item-inline-post aligncenter\"><\/div>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-385477\" src=\"https:\/\/krugersdorpnews.co.za\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2019\/07\/VWSA-employees-packed-40-000-meals-for-needy-children-at-their-annual-Show-of-Hands-event-_01.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"403\" \/><\/p>\n<p>\u201cWith 1,7 million households in South Africa facing hunger, the reality is that many children have to go to school hungry, this impacts on their education and their wellbeing. It is inspiring to see how many of our employees were willing to give their time in order to make a difference.
