A 1972 VW Beetle will be driven over 14 500km from Cape Town, through Africa to Brasnov, Romania, leaving on July 13, from the Nelson Mandela Children’s Hospital in Johannesburg.<\/p>\n

The Boikanyo Bug will be raising funds to help save underprivileged children who cannot afford to have heart surgery.<\/p>

The goal is to cross the finish line at the World Round Table meeting in August 2019 .<\/p>\n

You or your company are invited to be part of history by adopting the Boikanyo Bug through sponsorship.<\/p>

The total value aimed to be raised is R5-million.<\/p>\n

Boikanyo Foundation was registered as a non-profit organisation (NPO) and started by the Round Table Golden East 181 Association in 2006 to provide funding for life-saving heart surgeries for children from South Africa’s poorest communities.<\/p>\n

To date more than 80 open-heart surgeries have been conducted with funding from the foundation.<\/p>\n

But 80 surgeries is not enough.<\/p>\n

The Boikanyo Foundation and the Nelson Mandela Children\u2019s Hospital have been working together to reduce the waiting list for these heart surgeries.<\/p>\n
