EXCLUSIVE: Elsburg police bid a fond farewell to colleague"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>After serving in the South African Police Service for 35 years, 60-year-old Det-Capt Mphenduleni Michael Makhaye, hung up his badge last Monday.<\/p>\n<p>Makhaye started his career in the municipal police force in 1984, in Thokoza.<\/p><div class=\"stream-item stream-item-in-post stream-item-inline-post aligncenter\"><\/div>\n<p>The force was incorporated into the South African Police which later became the South African Police Service after the transition into democracy.<\/p>\n<p>Seeking to climb up through the ranks and fulfill his lifelong dream of becoming a detective, Makhaye participated in self-development courses which helped him soar closer to his dream, and on March 25, 1994, he became a
