{"id":199187,"date":"2019-03-19T10:30:03","date_gmt":"2019-03-19T08:30:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/germistoncitynews.co.za\/?p=199187"},"modified":"2019-03-19T15:52:54","modified_gmt":"2019-03-19T13:52:54","slug":"alert-another-day-stage-four-loadshedding","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/develop.citizen.co.za\/germiston-city-news\/news-headlines\/2019\/03\/19\/alert-another-day-stage-four-loadshedding\/","title":{"rendered":"ALERT: Another day of stage four loadshedding"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Eskom has announced another day of stage four loadshedding.<\/p>\n<p>Stage four\u00a0loadshedding was implemented at 9am this morning, after an upgrade from stage two, and will continued throughout the day into the night.<\/p><div class=\"stream-item stream-item-in-post stream-item-inline-post aligncenter\"><\/div>\n<p>The company claims that a shortage in generating capacity has led to loadshedding, which\u00a0is conducted rotationally as a measure of last resort to protect the power system.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Stage 2 <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/hashtag\/Loadshedding?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#Loadshedding<\/a> will continue  today, 19 March until 09h00 this morning whereafter we will move to Stage 4 loadshedding.  This is due to a shortage of capacity. href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/Eskom_SA\/status\/1107865245933076480?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">March 19, 2019<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.x.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p><div class=\"stream-item stream-item-in-post stream-item-inline-post aligncenter\"><\/div>\n<p>The company further announced that a press briefing will be held today (Tuesday) at which Minister of Public Enterprises,\u00a0Pravin Gordhan, and the chairperson of Eskom&#8217;s Board, Jabu Mabuza, will address the media on Eskom\u00a0and the current electricity supply problems.<\/p>\n<p>During loadshedding customers are reminded to treat all electrical points as live.<\/p>\n<p>Eskom appeals to residents and businesses to use electricity sparingly during this period.<\/p>\n<p>Please switch off geysers, as well as all non-essential lighting and electrical appliances to assist in reducing demand.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_82131\" One<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Stage one is implemented when Eskom requests a loadshedding range from between 10MW to 300MW.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn this stage areas to be affected are divided into two equal load sizes to accommodate Eskom load reduction needs,\u201d Gadebe said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf the metro schedule has eight areas in a block to be affected , only four of the eight areas may be affected on day one and the other remaining four areas will be affected on day two.\u201d<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Stage Two<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>When stage two is declared, the metro\u2019s schedules are implemented in full.<\/p>\n<p>If there are eight areas in a block, all eight areas will be affected.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Stage Three\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>When Eskom\u2019s grid in under severe pressure stage three is implemented.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cStage three is completely out of the metro\u2019s control and is implemented by Eskom to protect the national grid
