The EMPD High-Speed Unit targeted the N3 southbound near the Rand Airport Road off-ramp, the N12 eastbound near the Atlas Road off-ramp in Boksburg, Van Wyk Louw Drive between Brink and Mikro roads in Boksburg, as well as Heidelberg and Dekema roads in Alrode, last weekend.<\/p>\n
The operations were conducted between 8am and 11am on both the Saturday and Sunday.<\/p>
On the N12 eastbound at 9.10am on the Saturday, a 26-year-old man driving a red VW Golf GTi, claiming he was rushing to a hospital, was caught doing 165km\/h.<\/p>\n
On the same day, between 9.50am and 1pm, along Van Wyk Louw Drive, between Brink and Mikro roads in Boksburg, three motorists, all males ranging in age between 30 and 33 in two sedans and one SUV, were arrested when caught doing speeds of 118, 106 and 100km\/h on this 60km\/h stretch of road.<\/p>
The reasons advanced were either being late for work or rushing home.<\/p>\n
