According to Jason White, head of InspectaCar Financial Services, most cars lose 20 per cent of value the moment they leave the shop, and others will lose another 10 per cent in value during the first year.<\/p>
That\u2019s a 30 per cent loss in value during the initial year of ownership.<\/p>\n
\u201cA R300 000 car loses roughly R90 000 in value during that period,\u201d said Jason.<\/p>
\u201cDepreciation flattens out, usually after a car\u2019s third year before increasing again around year five.<\/p>\n
