It is with this in mind that the SAPS released the following safety tips to help community members be more aware of their surroundings and not become robbery victims.<\/p>
Tips individuals can use to avoid being a victim of cash robbery:<\/p>\n
\u2022 If you need to pay accounts, consider options that are lower risk instead of withdrawing large sums of cash, ie debit order or electronic transfers.<\/p>
\u2022 Carry as little cash as possible.<\/p>\n
\u2022 Do not advertise to anyone that you are carrying a large amount of cash.<\/p>\n
Tips that businesses can use to avoid cash robberies:<\/strong><\/p>\n \u2022 Alternate the days and times on which you deposit cash.<\/p>\n \u2022 Never make your bank visits public, even to people close to you.<\/p>\n \u2022 Do not openly display the money you are depositing while you are standing in the bank queue.<\/p>\n \u2022 Avoid carrying money bags, briefcases or openly displaying your deposit receipt book.<\/p>\n \u2022 It\u2019s advisable to identify another branch nearby that you can visit to ensure that your banking pattern is not easily recognisable or detected.<\/p>\n \u2022 If the amount of cash you are regularly depositing is increasing as your business grows, consider using the services of a cash management company.<\/p>\n \u2022 Refrain from giving wages to your contract or casual labourers in full view of the public.
