(GCFO) of the metro.

“The city manager, Dr Imogen Mashazi, issued Gugu Pride Malaza with a letter requesting her to provide reasons as to why she should not be suspended on October found that there was no basis for her not to be suspended, leading to her official suspension on October 29.”

Malaza has been suspended pending the finalisation of an investigation into alleged non-disclosure of information regarding her dismissal from the South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) as required by Regulation 11 of the Systems Act of 2000.
<div we have been calling on the metro to take action against Malaza since her controversial appointment early last year,” said Clr Phillip de Lange, DA leader in the metro.

“This suspension follows sustained pressure by the DA.

“Malaza’s questionable past has continuously been highlighted by the DA in council, as we questioned the executive mayor, Clr Mzwandile Masina, on why he had not acted on her appointment for more than a year.”

This was one of the DA’s key arguments in the Motion of No Confidence persistently opposed Malaza’s appointment.

In a letter written to the mayor, his party submitted the pending court case to the mayor for his perusal.

“At a council meeting,
