OR Tambo in theatre"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Written and directed by Zwelibanzi Sibiya, Light at the end of the tunnel, a theatre production depicting the life of OR Tambo, premiered and showed at the Germiston Theatre in the last week of October, and it attracted many theatre enthusiasts.<\/p>\n<p>Local theatre directors Gareth Lovell Davies and Ashleigh Kroll (Stardust Theatre Productions), skilful theatre producer Mbongeni Ngema, who is best known for his work on the South African theatrical classic Sarafina!, as well as Naledi Awards adjudicators were spotted among the audience during the different performances.<\/p><div class=\"stream-item stream-item-in-post stream-item-inline-post aligncenter\"><\/div>\n<figure id=\"attachment_190519\" by Zwelibanzi Sibiya.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The show was also tied to the worthy cause of collecting sanitary pads for underprivileged girls in the metro, as well as educating learners from local schools about the rich history of Tambo by taking them on a field trip to the OR Tambo Cultural Precinct in Wattville, Benoni, where the struggle icon is buried.<\/p>\n<figure
