Leading recycling company, Mpact Recycling, encourages everyone to embody this year’s World Environmental Health Day, tasking individuals with the continuation of maintaining their recycling efforts all year long, even after the conclusion of Recycling Month (September).

World Environmental Health Day, which falls on September 26 (today), under the theme of Global Food Safety and Sustainability, is dedicated to celebrating the health of the environment, whilst mitigating pollution and curbing food related diseases.

The theme aims to support the provision of more safe food, to make use of precious water and nutrient resources, and for communities to increasingly value sustainable food production.

“The truth is earth has limited resources.

“From our water, to our fuel sources and food.

“If we don’t take care of this planet, we will find ourselves in very desperate times.

“Recycling, whether on a personal or industrial scale, has the ability to extend the lifespan of our resources specifically our landfill sites.

“One ton of recovered paper saves 3m³ of landfill space.

“Recycling is something each and every one of us can and should do,” said Donna-Mari Noble, Mpact Recycling’s communication manager.

Raising awareness on the effective power recycling has as a tool used for curbing pollution and creating sustainability, Mpact Recycling issued 40 shock boxes to various media houses which contained milk cartons, a loaf of bread, bottled water, butter, a letter from a recycling collector, and an exam pad.
