{"id":187256,"date":"2018-09-25T08:00:27","date_gmt":"2018-09-25T06:00:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/germistoncitynews.co.za\/?p=187256"},"modified":"2018-09-20T08:14:32","modified_gmt":"2018-09-20T06:14:32","slug":"what-is-adhd","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/develop.citizen.co.za\/germiston-city-news\/lifestyle-news\/2018\/09\/25\/what-is-adhd\/","title":{"rendered":"What is ADHD?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Psychologist Stefania Romanini said ADHD is a chronic neurodevelopmental disorder that can have a profound impact at school and in the workplace, as well as an impact on relationships.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs a consequence, the quality of life of individuals with ADHD, and that of the people around them, are all affected,\u201d she said.<\/p><div class=\"stream-item stream-item-in-post stream-item-inline-post aligncenter\"><\/div>\n<p>ADHD is generally considered to have three component features; inattention, hyperactivity and impulsivity, and the contribution of each to an individual\u2019s presentation of ADHD varies from person to person and across the lifespan.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cADHD is the official medical term for the condition, regardless of whether a person demonstrates symptoms of hyperactivity.
