service warns of potential veld fires"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The South African Weather Service today released a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.weathersa.co.za\/warnings?region=rsa\" target=\"_blank\">warning<\/a> of potential veld fires<\/p>\n<p>The service\u2019s website explained that the hot, dry and windy weather conditions that are currently gripping most of the\u00a0province\u00a0have lead to an extremely high fire danger.<\/p><div class=\"stream-item stream-item-in-post stream-item-inline-post aligncenter\"><\/div>\n<p>The weather service\u00a0has also predicted that the uncommonly\u00a0high temperatures that have been experienced over the past few days, after the cold snap over the weekend, will continue to remain in the high 20s and low 30s released the following warnings:<\/p><div class=\"stream-item stream-item-in-post stream-item-inline-post aligncenter\"><\/div>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Veld fires<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Veld fires may target=\"_blank\">Know your weather alerts<\/a><\/h4>\n<p>Motorists are reminded to take the necessary precautions when travelling.<\/p>\n<p>They are encouraged to reduce speed and increase their following distance and headlights should be kept on at all times to increase visibility.<\/p>\n<p>Residents should also ensure that they shelter their pets.<\/p>\n<div
