Three drivers were arrested for excessive speeding on the N3 highway southbound at the Elands Interchange near the Rand Airport exit, on Sunday.<\/p>\n
The arrests were made between 6am and 11am at the Elands Interchange near the Rand Airport Road exit, which is a 120km\/h zone.<\/p>
At 8.20am, a 31-year-old male driver in a blue BMW 3 Series, who claimed to be a pharmacist, was clocked at 181km\/h.<\/p>\n
He advanced the reason that he was rushing to open his business.<\/p>
A 36-year-old male driver in a white Toyota Sport was clocked at 166km\/h at 10am and was the second arrestee.<\/p>\n
He claimed to be rushing home for personal reasons.<\/p>\n
