Rescue teams from the Boksburg Fire Station responded to an accident involving multiple vehicles last Friday evening.<\/p>\n
The incident took place at about 6.40pm on the N12 east- and westbound carriageways between Kraft and Jet Park roads.<\/p>
William Ntladi, district manager media liaison for Ekurhuleni Disaster and Emergency Management Services (DEMS), said, \u201cWhen emergency services arrived on scene it was alleged that the driver of an articulated truck, loaded with rolled metal sheets, and driving on the eastbound carriageway, lost control of the vehicle and crashed against the centre concrete barrier of the highway.<\/p>\n
\u201cTwo other vehicles were involved in the crash and subsequently, in the opposite direction, two more light motor vehicles were involved in a secondary crash.\u201d<\/p>
Ntladi told the GCN that two drivers, one from the truck and the other from a sedan on the opposite side of the highway, were declared dead on scene by paramedics.<\/p>\n
