Within the first 10 minutes, we had received over 10 000 successful applications,\u201d said Steve Mabona, spokesperson for the GDE.<\/p>\n<p>A few difficulties were identified:<\/p><div class=\"stream-item stream-item-in-post stream-item-inline-post aligncenter\"><\/div>\n<p>* Parents entering home and work addresses incorrectly.<\/p>\n<p>* Delays with sending Waiting List numbers.<\/p><div class=\"stream-item stream-item-in-post stream-item-inline-post aligncenter\"><\/div>\n<p>* Web Operating Systems.<\/p>\n<p>With regards to the addresses, the GDE appeals to parents to first select their municipality, then select the town. Thereafter, parents can select the township or suburb in which they live.<\/p>\n<p>When you follow this procedure, you should not have a problem with finding your street address.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe urge parents to make use of Google Chrome, as our site is linked with Google Maps, which makes it easier with regards to the addresses. Google Chrome is faster and most compatible with the online application system.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He said that they are experiencing delays with regards to the waiting list numbers; however, their partner, Vodacom is assisting in this regard.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe online application system is the future. It provides for a fair and equitable opportunity for parents to apply at public schools.
