night of adventure"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>It was a night of adventure as the First Germiston Girl Guides and Fifth Boksburg Girl Guides took to the streets of Germiston for a Nite Hike.<\/p>\n<p>The hike, which was 7.5km long, saw the troupes hiking through the streets of Delville and Lambton, navigating their way to various bases and complete challenges set up at each.<\/p><div class=\"stream-item stream-item-in-post stream-item-inline-post aligncenter\"><\/div>\n<p>The gruelling hike started at 6pm and finished after midnight when the guides crept into delighted to attend special camp<\/a><\/h4>\n<p>Mike\u2019s Kitchen sponsored the winning team with individual gift vouchers and gave all the participants small vouchers to enjoy a meal.<\/p><div prizes, Mike\u2019s Kitchen in Lambton rewarded the guides with milkshakes during their hike.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAll in all a great deal of fun was had by all involved,\u201d said Susan Guides SA is a non-profit organisation (NPO) that empowers girls and women to reach their fullest potential through a dynamic programme which teaches members how to become responsible citizens, as well as imparting important leadership, sustainability and humanity skills.<\/p>\n<p>The Girl Guides\u2019 objective is to nurture core manners, values and morals in young women which will assist them to become good community leaders.<\/p>\n<p>The First Lambton Teddies caters to girls aged from four to seven years old, while Brownies caters for girls from seven to 10 years old.<\/p>\n<p>The First Germiston Guides caters for older girls from 10 to 15 years old; from 15 onwards girls will become Rangers.<\/p>\n<p>If you need more information or would like to get involved call Vorster on 082 759
