A white Toyota LDV was stolen in the early hours of last Tuesday morning in Pretoria.<\/p>\n

The EMPD Public Order Policing Unit members picked up the vehicle\u2019s tracking signal at about midday which pointed to the vehicle movement being in the Germiston area.<\/p>

\u201cVia GPS tracking coordinates, the metro police was able to locate the vehicle on Umbombo Street in Rondebult,\u201d said Chief Supt Wilfred Kgasago, spokesperson for the EMPD.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe vehicle was found abandoned with the dashboard badly stripped and fitted with false number plates.<\/p>

\u201cA jammer \u2013 a gadget used to avoid detection by the tracking system \u2013 was found in a bag inside the recovered Toyota.\u201d<\/p>\n

Forensics was summoned to the scene to lift fingerprints and later the vehicle was towed to the SAPS Van Ryn Deep pound in Benoni for further investigation and safe-keeping.<\/p>\n

The 12-fin jammer was booked in as evidence at the Elsburg Police Station.<\/p>\n
