The heartwarming story, adapted for the stage by Suzanne van Wijk and directed by Frans Swart, plays out at the Mardi Gras Theatre from 7 to 18 February 2018. In this refreshed production of\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.suninternational.com\/carnival-city\/events\/\"><em>Fiela se Kind<\/em><\/a><em>,<\/em>\u00a0Swart plays homage to Matthee, one of South Africa\u2019s most talented authors.<\/p>\n<p>Swart has produced the production twice (in 1997 and 2007), and he and Matthee became great friends before she died.<\/p><div class=\"stream-item stream-item-in-post stream-item-inline-post aligncenter\"><\/div>\n<p>\u201cIt is once again time for us to experience the wonderful story of\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.suninternational.com\/carnival-city\/events\/\"><em>Fiela se Kind<\/em><\/a>\u00a0on stage,\u201d Swart says.\u00a0 \u201cFrom the outset, my team and I said that we did not want to copy any of the former productions and so this production is fresh and new.\u00a0 I am very excited about what happened during the creative processes.\u00a0 Theatregoers will definitely experience a wonderful new production and, after 30 years, there is of course a whole new generation that has never seen\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.suninternational.com\/carnival-city\/events\/\"><em>Fiela se Kind<\/em><\/a>\u00a0on stage.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Young Benjamin is played by Eloff Snyman from Cape Town and Nina is played by Jaime du Toit from Vereeniging.
