Judging by the number of people lining up at stores last year, you might want to get the day off to an early start so you can secure your space in line.

Do your ‘research’ and price-checking in advance. Check websites, shopping brochures and advertisements before you head to the stores, so you know what bargains you are looking for.

Make a list (and check it twice) so you can map your route around a store and know what products you want and where you will find them at each individual shop.

Last, but not least, make a budget and stick to it. Try to avoid impulse buys. By doing this, you can prevent ‘buyer’s remorse’ and not stress about arriving home with products and items which you don’t really need.

Shoppers, get ready to swipe your credit and debit cards, as the countdown to Black Friday (November 24) has begun.

[7,2
9093,5280,2074,16525,16526,16527,16528,16529,16530,8830,16531,16532,16533,16332,16534,16535
post-167089","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-local-news","category-news-headlines","tag-black-friday","tag-christmas-shopping","tag-halloween","tag-impulse-buys","tag-make-a-budget","tag-popularity-in-south-africa","tag-price-checking","tag-retail-calendar","tag-set-your-alarm","tag-shop","tag-shopping-black-friday","tag-shopping-brochures","tag-shopping-brochures-and-advertisements","tag-shopping-centres","tag-spending-spree","tag-thanksgiving
["black friday","christmas shopping","Halloween","impulse buys","make a budget","popularity in South Africa","price-checking","retail calendar","Set your alarm","shop","shopping black friday","shopping brochures","shopping brochures and advertisements","shopping centres","spending spree","thanksgiving
["GET
