Members of the Primrose police and Primrose Crime Prevention Youth Desk recently paid the learners of Primrose Hill Primary School a visit.

“We visited the children to discuss the danger of using drugs (with a special focus on dagga) and bringing dangerous weapons to school,” said Sgt Styles Maome, communications officer for the Primrose police.

During his presentation to the learners, Maome informed them that the police are aware that the children are bringing drugs and knives to school and that they will be putting a stop to this.

“We are promoting a safe learning environment for everyone and we will not tolerate those who are lawbreakers.

“We will continue to visit the school unannounced and will catch learners who refuse to take heed of our warning,” said Maome.

He further explained the procedure of arresting a minor to the learners, as well as more about the child justice care act.

Before leaving, the team encouraged the children to study hard and create a better future for themselves and the community.
