says metro tops in job creation"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The metro has had a strong year in terms of job creation, beating all South Africa\u2019s metros.<\/p>\n<p>This is according to the recent Quarterly Labour Force Survey (QLFS), which reflected on the employment situation in South Africa for the second quarter of the 2017 calendar year and final quarter of the financial year.<\/p><div class=\"stream-item stream-item-in-post stream-item-inline-post aligncenter\"><\/div>\n<p>The report reflects that the annual employment gains observed in six metropolitan municipalities, with the largest increase in Ekurhuleni (98 000), followed by the City of Cape Town (63 000) and eThekwini (58 000).<\/p>\n<p>Compared to the same period last year, employment decreases were recorded in two metropolitan municipalities, namely the City of Johannesburg (30 000) and Mangaung (4 000).<\/p><div class=\"stream-item stream-item-in-post stream-item-inline-post aligncenter\"><\/div>\n<p>Another important trend, according to the survey, is the decreased number of discouraged workers.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff0000\">ALSO READ:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a 000.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis means that people are hopeful about finding work.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIndeed, many of those who have stayed in the labour market have been able to find work,\u201d the survey stated.<\/p>\n<p>Mzwandile Masina, the executive mayor of Ekurhuleni, welcomed the survey and said the metro would continue to create a favourable environment that would create more sustainable jobs procurement.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Implementation of Township Economy Strategy.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Enabling public transport system.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Massive public infrastructure investment.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Promote localisation and production.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Skills, capability development and workplace stabilisation.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><strong>Have a
