Primrose police recently arrested a 55-year-old man on a charge of possession of suspected stolen property.<\/p>\n
The arrest was made while officers were patrolling in Mimosa Road, in Primrose.<\/p>
\u201cPolice noticed a suspicious vehicle and asked the driver to pull over so that they could search the vehicle,\u201d explained communications officer for the Primrose police, Sgt Styles Maome.<\/p>\n
Inside the vehicle they found several boxes hidden under a plastic sheet and inside the boxes were different types of cosmetics, valued at R90 000.<\/p>
\u201cOfficers asked for proof of purchase from the driver but he was unable to produce it or give a clear explanation as to where he had obtained the items,\u201d said Maome.<\/p>\n
The suspect was arrested.<\/p>\n
He appeared in the Germiston Magistrate\u2019s Court, where his case was postponed for plea and trial.<\/p>\n
