Hard work, ambition and personal growth are the driving forces behind Wychwood beauty, Mishka Moodley’s success.<\/p>\n
Mishka (17) was recently announced as a finalist in the Mr and Miss Jacaranda Show Model and Arts 2017.<\/p>
\u201cI entered the competition in May this year. I recently received an email informing me that I am a finalist,\u201d said Mishka.<\/p>\n
\u201cI was thrilled when I received the news as I only started modelling this year.<\/p>
\u201cI am very excited about this competition and hope to do well in it.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cI decided to do modelling because I love it and because I want to build my self-confidence,\u201d said Mishka.<\/p>\n
\u201cOne of the important qualities one has to have as a model, is confidence – I admire the confidence I have seen in a lot of models.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt is important as a person to be confident and content with who you are. Although I have confidence in myself, it is just not enough right now. I know that modelling will boost it.\u201d<\/p>\n
The youngster\u2019s hobbies include singing, dancing, acting and drawing.<\/p>\n
Mishka said she is enjoying her time in the competition.<\/p>\n

Also read:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n Neggie desires to inspire<\/a><\/p>\n <\/p>\n \u201cSince I received the news, I have been to a boot camp and will be going to more boot camps before the final show on September 23, in Pretoria,\u201d said Mishka.<\/p>\n \u201cThis competition is amazing as they are teaching us a lot.<\/p>\n \u201cWe are taught entrepreneurial skills, life skills and the importance of working with charities and our respective communities.<\/p>\n \u201cI realised that it is not about the modelling and winning the crown but rather about growing as a person.\u201d<\/p>\n The Wychwood resident said they have to raise money for the entry fee.<\/p>\n \u201cThe entry fee is R2 700 and we have to raise it ourselves by the end of August,\u201d said Mishka.<\/p>\n \u201cThey don\u2019t want our parents to spoon feed us by giving us the money.
