The venue for the public meeting for residents of Ward 39 being held this Saturday has changed.<\/p>\n
The meeting starts at 10.30am and will now take place at the Elsburg Town Hall in Maritz Street, Elsburg.<\/p>
During the course of the event Ward 39 councillor Clr Alta de Beer will introduce the newly-elected ward committee to the community and a number of presentations will be given by officials from the metro.<\/p>\n
Residents will also be afforded the opportunity to raise concerns and issues affecting them.<\/p>
Metro officials have been invited to discuss the following topics:<\/p>\n
1. Call centre and logging of calls (this is a major issue in the ward).<\/p>\n
2. City planning \u2013 what the plan is in regard to shack farming and illegal buildings.<\/p>\n
3. EMPD \u2013 members\u2019 attendance at CPF meetings in the future, the establishment of a relationship of trust with residents and how to deal with known drug problems in the area.<\/p>\n
4. Energy: how the more than 400 broken street lights \u2013 recorded by the community \u2013 will be fixed.<\/p>\n
5. Departments responsible for Weideman Dam rehabilitation \u2013 presentation on the project.<\/p>\n
