{"id":155555,"date":"2017-07-03T06:15:00","date_gmt":"2017-07-03T04:15:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/germistoncitynews.co.za\/155555\/public-meeting-set-to-discuss-issues\/"},"modified":"2017-07-03T15:56:04","modified_gmt":"2017-07-03T13:56:04","slug":"public-meeting-set-to-discuss-issues","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/develop.citizen.co.za\/germiston-city-news\/news-headlines\/2017\/07\/03\/public-meeting-set-to-discuss-issues\/","title":{"rendered":"Public meeting in Ward 39 set to discuss issues"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A public meeting for residents of Ward 39 is set to be held this Saturday.<\/p>\n<p>The meeting starts at 10.30am at the Dinwiddie Hall, situated at the corner of Eltham and Esher roads, Dinwiddie.<\/p><div class=\"stream-item stream-item-in-post stream-item-inline-post aligncenter\"><\/div>\n<p>During the course of the event Ward 39 councillor Clr Alta de Beer will introduce the newly-elected ward committee to the community and a number of presentations will be given by officials from the metro.<\/p>\n<p>Residents will also be afforded the opportunity to raise concerns and issues affecting them.<\/p><div class=\"stream-item stream-item-in-post stream-item-inline-post aligncenter\"><\/div>\n<p>Metro officials have been invited to discuss the following topics:<\/p>\n<p>1. Call centre and logging of calls (this is a major issue in the ward).<\/p>\n<p>2. City planning \u2013 what the plan is in regard to shack farming and illegal buildings.<\/p>\n<p>3. EMPD \u2013 members\u2019 attendance at CPF meetings in the future, the establishment of a relationship of trust with residents and how to deal with known drug problems in the area.<\/p>\n<p>4. Energy: how the more than 400 broken street lights &#8211; recorded by the community &#8211; will be fixed.<\/p>\n<p>5.
