The longest night of the year takes place on Wednesday, June 21 and what better way to celebrate it than with a swim.<\/p>\n
The annual NSRI (National Sea Rescue Institute) Winter Solstice Swim will take place at all NSRI stations countrywide and in Germiston this will be no different.<\/p>
Station 27, known as the Victoria Lake Station, which services Gauteng, is based at the Victoria Lake Yacht Club, and intrepid swimmers will be taking to the water for a 50m swim at 6pm.<\/p>\n
The community is urged to come and support them or take part in the swim themselves.<\/p>
The project in Germiston is serving as a fund-raising initiative to raise funds to purchase a mobile vehicle to assist NSRI in disaster situations.<\/p>\n
