NEWS &#8211; One dead and over 100 injured in Metrorail collision in Elandsfontein"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>One person has died and at least 102\u00a0people have been injured after two Metrorail trains collided near the Elandsfontein Station this morning.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Ekurhuleni Disaster and Emergency Management Services (DEMS) were called to the scene of a collision between two trains, at 6.25am this morning (Thursday).<\/p><div class=\"stream-item stream-item-in-post stream-item-inline-post aligncenter\"><\/div>\n<p>&#8220;At the time of the collision one of the trains was heading to Tembisa, with no passengers on board, and the other was heading to Johannesburg from Pretoria, full of passengers,&#8221; explained William Ntladi, media liaison for DEMS.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The accident occurred when the both trains found themselves on same railway track.&#8221;<\/p><div class=\"stream-item stream-item-in-post stream-item-inline-post aligncenter\"><\/div>\n<p>The injured passengers will be transported to the Bertha Gxowa Hospital in Germiston and the Tambo Memorial Hospital in Boksburg for treatment.<\/p>\n<p>Train services have been suspended, and busses arranged for stranded
