dies in light aircraft crash near R59 highway"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>One male pilot was declared dead by Ekurhuleni Disaster and Emergency Management Services (DEMS) paramedics after the light aircraft he was flying crashed near the R59 highway south bound to Vereeniging today (May 21).<\/p>\n<p>Rescue teams from both Tokoza and Palm Ridge fire stations, promptly responded to the scene.<\/p><div class=\"stream-item stream-item-in-post stream-item-inline-post aligncenter\"><\/div>\n<p>\u201cOn arrival, the body of the pilot with poly trauma was found still trapped inside the wreckage,\u201d said William Ntaldi, district manager media liaison for DEMS.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPre-hospital medical treatment was initiated and unfortunately the patient didn\u2019t respond positively to the treatment and was declared dead on scene.\u201d<\/p><div class=\"stream-item stream-item-in-post stream-item-inline-post aligncenter\"><\/div>\n<p>The scene was handed over to the SAPA who at the same time contacted the South African Civil Aviation Authority to come to the scene to conduct further investigations.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe only available information on scene was that the aircraft
