The project plans to have completed the electrification of over 16 000 households by the end of this financial year. The five-year programme has started in informal settlements located on state-owned land while legalities to roll out the programme in informal settlements on privately owned land are being reviewed.<\/p>\n<p><strong>You said:<\/strong><\/p><div class=\"stream-item stream-item-in-post stream-item-inline-post aligncenter\"><\/div>\n<ul>\n<li>Carol Mafagane, \u201cThe mayor is directionless. In his opening speech as mayor he spoke about building 100 000 houses in order to eradicate the squatter camps now he speaks about lighting squatter camps up.
