A 24-year-old man was recently arrested by the Katlehong police for malicious damage to property.<\/p>\n

The arrest was made at the Thusong informal settlement, after officers were called to the scene of the crime by the accused\u2019s family.<\/p>

\u201cIt is alleged that the suspect had come to his mother\u2019s home and demanded food.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe obliged and gave him a plate of food, but to his mother\u2019s astonishment he allegedly threw the plate of food away and became violent,\u201d explained Capt Mega Ndobe, of the Ekurhuleni West cluster.<\/p>

The man allegedly threatened to assault members of the family before damaging his mother\u2019s home.<\/p>\n

\u201cPolice are investigating why the man suddenly became violent and further charges may be brought against him at a later stage,\u201d said Ndobe.<\/p>\n

The accused will appear in the Palm Ridge Magistrate\u2019s Court soon on a charge of malicious damage to property.<\/p>\n
