It was all things sweet at Germiston Sugar Guild\u2019s cake competition, which was held at the AFM Church, in Primrose, recently.<\/p>\n

The competition\u2019s theme was \u201cThe queen is coming to tea\u201d, which added some elegance to the event.<\/p>

<\/div>\n

Members of the local guild had to pull out all the creative stops to impress the judges with their well-decorated cakes.<\/p>\n

The competition\u2019s judges were Sue Reid and Jackie Oosthuizen, who judged the cakes on appearance, texture and taste, among other things.<\/p>

The top three prizewinners were:<\/p>\n

1. Bernice Abrahams<\/p>\n

2. Sao Azevedo<\/p>\n

3. Helen Pepperell<\/p>\n

The members meet every second Saturday of the month and others are welcome to join.<\/p>\n
