href=\"http:\/\/www.weathersa.co.za\/warnings?region=rsa\" target=\"_blank\">South African Weather Service<\/a>\u00a0warning residents to be prepared for heavy rain as the wet weather will continue for most of the week.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to the warning of heavy rains, possible flooding and poor visibility over Gauteng, the service warned of severe thunderstorms and high discomfort values.<\/p><div class=\"stream-item stream-item-in-post stream-item-inline-post aligncenter\"><\/div>\n<p>The warnings in more detail:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Flooding<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Localised and flash floods may be experienced in parts of Gauteng due to heavy rainfall.<\/p><div class=\"stream-item stream-item-in-post stream-item-inline-post aligncenter\"><\/div>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Heavy rain<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Heavy rain is predicted over the province for most of the week.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Reduced Visibility<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Visibility of less than 1km expected in places in Gauteng.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Extreme Heat<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Extremely hot conditions are expected over the northern parts of Gauteng, despite the rainfall.<\/p>\n<p>Motorists are reminded to take the necessary precautions when travelling in wet weather.<\/p>\n<p>They are encouraged to reduce speed and increase their following distances and headlights should be kept on at all times to increase visibility.<\/p>\n<p>Residents should also ensure that they shelter their pets.<\/p>\n<p>The metro offered residents the following safety tips:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>If outdoors seek shelter immediately but do not\u00a0seek shelter, under a tree, under telephone and\/or power lines, on hilltops, in isolated sheds, under unprotected gazebo\u2019s or picnic shelters.\u00a0Find shelter in a building or vehicle.<\/li>\n<li>If there is a group of low trees separate from high trees, you can hide under the low trees, however, if the tree is alone or higher than the others stay away from it.<\/li>\n<li>Avoid being near metal objects such as,\u00a0 fences, golf carts, telephone or power lines and steel structures such as pylons and windmills.<\/li>\n<li>Do not hold any metal object, use any electrical appliance, use the telephone or take a bath or shower.<\/li>\n<li>Do not play sport during thunderstorms.<\/li>\n<li>If possible stay indoors well clear of windows, shelter pets and cover vehicles, disconnect electrical appliances.<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Unplug all electrical equipment that is not\u00a0extremely important including computers.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div class=\"eventreport\">\n<p><strong>Reminder \u2013 The
