The PinkDrive truck took a turn at Supa Quick in Fishers\u2019 Hill, recently.<\/p>\n

Supa Quick invited PinkDrive to the area to educate and create awareness about cancer.<\/p>

Community members were invited to have either a breast or prostate cancer screening.<\/p>\n

\u201cCancer screenings are very important, we just wanted to give the community the opportunity to have theirs in the comfort of their area,\u201d said the owner of Supa Quick Fishers\u2019 Hill, Kerry Albertyn.<\/p>

\u201cThis is also a way of giving back to the community.\u201d<\/p>\n

Tebogo Lekgoane, a nurse at PinkDrive emphasised the importance of screening.<\/p>\n

\u201cPeople should come for screenings on a regular basis because early detection saves lives,\u201d said Lekgoane.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe also teach people how to examine themselves.\u201d<\/p>\n

Community members and employees took time out of their schedules to get themselves checked.<\/p>\n

Primrose resident, Maria Olivier, loves the initiative and said; \u201cThis is a good idea. When I read the GCN and discovered that the truck will be around, I was happy and committed to coming for a screening.
\n\u201cThis is a great initiative, keep it up.\u201d<\/p>\n

Albertyn said he is in full support of the initiative.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is one of the best initiatives I have ever been involved in,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf we can save one life, we have achieved.\u201d<\/p>\n

The staff at Supa Quick Fishers\u2019 Hill wore pink golf shirts in support of the cause.<\/p>\n
