The metro\u2019s efforts in promoting good corporate governance haven’t gone unnoticed.<\/p>\n
The city\u2019s risk management department was recently a recipient of two awards from two prominent independent bodies, who’re at the centre of promoting governance, risk and compliance management in South Africa.<\/p>
The Chartered Institute of Government Finance, Audit and Risk Officers (CIGFARO\/IMFO) awarded the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality a \u201cClean Administration Award to Risk Management Unit\u201d, for subscribing to clean audit processes for the 2015\/16 financial year.<\/p>\n
Khumalo said: \u201cIt’s indeed a great honour for the municipality through the Risk Management Department, to receive these awards and to be recognised amongst the best – as leaders in governance both at municipal level, plus the public sector at large.<\/p>
\u201cWe owe this success to many of our stakeholders throughout the institutions, who continue to support our efforts.<\/p>\n
\u201cSuch achievements continue to challenge us to do better; and remain relevant to the needs of the institution and our communities.<\/p>\n
\u201cCentral to building confidence in the institution, is ensuring sustained levels of good governance.\u201d<\/p>\n
The metro will continue to strive towards building an accountable, transparent and ethical government.<\/p>\n
With two consecutive clean audits, the metro understands the importance of ensuring a clean administration built on solid government.<\/p>\n
