the metro in the hope of having at least one of the amenities restored, however, they were left disappointed.
<div class="stream-item stream-item-in-post stream-item-inline-post being caused by the demolishing and rebuilding of a building at the corner of Filbert Street and Rietfontein Road,” said Jurie Badenhorst.

The GCN sent a query to the metro’s media department to find out when the power and water would be restored to the street?

We also asked what had caused the outages and if the demolishing and refurbishing of the building were playing a part in the outages.

Themba Gadebe, spokesman for the metro, responded to the query, stating: “The power failure in the area was caused by a storm and, as a result, the pump station in the area was affected, leading to a water outage.

“Water was interrupted for a short period of time before a diesel generator was utilised to operate the pumps.

“We can, therefore, confirm that both water and power have been restored in the area.”

You might also be interested in reading:

<a
