{"id":138549,"date":"2016-12-26T06:05:00","date_gmt":"2016-12-26T04:05:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/germistoncitynews.co.za\/138549\/safety-tips-when-swimming-in-the-sea-2\/"},"modified":"2016-12-26T06:31:27","modified_gmt":"2016-12-26T04:31:27","slug":"safety-tips-when-swimming-in-the-sea-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/develop.citizen.co.za\/germiston-city-news\/news-headlines\/2016\/12\/26\/safety-tips-when-swimming-in-the-sea-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Safety tips when swimming in the sea"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Many community members will be heading to the coast for a well-deserved summer holiday soon.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Here are a few things to remember when heading for a swim in the sea or a day at the beach:<\/strong><\/p><div class=\"stream-item stream-item-in-post stream-item-inline-post aligncenter\"><\/div>\n<ul>\n<li>\u00a0Always swim or surf at a beach patrolled by surf lifesavers or lifeguards.<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Swim between the red and yellow flags as these mark the safest areas to swim.<\/li>\n<li>Avoid swimming alone or unsupervised.<\/li>\n<li>Float with a rip current.
