businesses to tackle social issues"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The metro is set to re-launch the Business Chamber to strengthen cordial relations between the municipality and business.<\/p>\n<p>This emerged last Friday at a business breakfast meeting hosted by Ekurhuleni\u2019s executive mayor Clr Mzwandile Masina.<\/p><div class=\"stream-item stream-item-in-post stream-item-inline-post aligncenter\"><\/div>\n<p>Masina said tying the knot with the business sector was key to tackling the social issues facing the metro.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur objective is to emancipate the economic state of the region through enhancing our \u2018poor power programme\u2019 to eradicate poverty.<\/p><div class=\"stream-item stream-item-in-post stream-item-inline-post aligncenter\"><\/div>\n<p>\u201cWe want to also provide support to local businesses; and we seek to attract investments and provide job opportunities.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe strongly want to support local products, especially those which are produced in township businesses, without sidelining big businesses.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe want to ensure that we turn Ekurhuleni into a manufacturing site,\u201d Masina said.<\/p>\n<figure seminar.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The business consultation engagement was welcomed by the local business community.<\/p>\n<p>Roland Spiteals, operations director of Natures Garden, noted that the metro has embarked on a good path by involving the business affiliates in their strategic and transformational vision.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis serves as a good platform for us to tackle the economic ills and improve the business hub of the region.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe share the mayor\u2019s vision and, therefore, pledge to work with the metro to massively shift the unemployment status of the
