scrutinised by EMPD officers"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Continuing with their Bumper to Bumper operation, EMPD officers focused on ridding the roads of unroadworthy mini-bus taxis last Friday.<\/p>\n<p>The operation took place from 2pm to 10pm in Katlehong.<\/p><div class=\"stream-item stream-item-in-post stream-item-inline-post aligncenter\"><\/div>\n<p>\u201cTen mini-bus taxis found to be in an appalling state and, therefore, posing a potential danger to both the commuters and other road users were impounded,\u201d said Lt Col Wilfred Kgasago, the spokesman for the mini-bus taxi with a smooth tyre and a cracked windscreen was issued with a discontinued notice, which means the taxi may not be used on a public road until it is re-tested.\u201d<\/p><div class=\"stream-item stream-item-in-post stream-item-inline-post aligncenter\"><\/div>\n<p>The operation was carried out in the Tsietsi Section at the intersection of the M7 and Brickfield Road, as well as at the intersection of the M7 and Mercury Road.<\/p>\n<p>All the impounded vehicles were towed to the EMPD pound in Alberton.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Other articles you may be interested
