Cubs from the First Germiston Cub Pack need to work hard towards attaining all their badges.<\/p>\n
To this end Crystal Marais (9), who is working towards her Gold Wolf Advancement badge, had to write a song or a poem and share it with the rest of the pack.<\/p>
She came up with a poem about the constant electricity outages in Germiston and her Cub leaders enjoyed it so much they wanted to share it.<\/p>\n
The poem is entitled \u201cNo Electricity\u201d and reads as follows:<\/p>
\u201cWhen the lights went out,<\/p>\n
\u201cMy dog started to pout.<\/p>\n
\u201cMommy started to cry,<\/p>\n
\u201cBecause she couldn\u2019t get her hair dry.<\/p>\n
\u201cEveryone started to rush around,<\/p>\n
\u201cAnd the candles were finally found.<\/p>\n
\u201cDad put the gas stove on,<\/p>\n
\u201cAnd the kettle began steaming a song.<\/p>\n
\u201cEveryone started falling asleep,<\/p>\n
\u201cAnd that night was no more bleak.\u201d<\/p>\n
The First Germiston Cubs (ages seven to 11) run on a Tuesday from 5.30pm to 7pm, while the Scouts (ages 11 to 18) run on a Thursday from 6.30pm to 8.30pm during government school terms.<\/p>\n
