Sprinkle a generous amount of salt onto some wax paper. Move the iron back and forth on the salt for about a minute to remove the substance.<\/li>\n<li>If you&#8217;ve caused a grease fire in a pan, pour salt onto the flames. The salt will smother the flames.<\/li>\n<li>To clean a drain, mix equal amounts (1\/4 cup) of salt and bicarbonate of soda and pour down the drain. Pour a 1\/2 cup of white vinegar down the drain. The reaction will cause the solution to foam up.
