The foretelling of the future is often seen as being cloaked in mystery and something which is almost taboo.<\/p>\n
The GCN recently caught up with Elspark resident Alex the Fortune Teller, as he is known, to unravel a bit of the intrigue.<\/p>
Born in Grahamstown, Alex moved to Cape Town when he was very young and grew up there.<\/p>\n
In the 1970s he relocated to Hillbrow, in Johannesburg, where he did readings for people.<\/p>
He then emigrated to the United Kingdom in 1984, and did readings and African divination (bone-throwing) there for a number of years, before returning to South Africa in 1987.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhile there I did readings for a lot of people in the modelling world,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
When Alex returned he lived in the Kibler Park area and then moved to Elspark, last September.<\/p>\n
\u201cFrom a young age, about 14 or 15, I developed an interest in geomancy and I developed my skills from there,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Today Alex uses astrology, tarot, the planets, i\u2019ching, numerology, runes, crystals, palmistry, divination, bibliomancia, scrying, cards, Chinese readings, sticks and planet transits to give people spiritual insight and guidance.<\/p>\n
He has 30 years of experience and has featured on radio stations, television and in magazines, as well as having helped the police on a case. He has also done readings for a number of high profile people.<\/p>\n
Towards the end of last year,Alex sat down and started studying the state of the country.<\/p>\n
He picked up a number of interesting things for 2016, like a shortage of crops, strange weather patterns, problems at the mines and fires in public buildings.<\/p>\n
\u201cI kept picking up an earthquake in Mexico, as well as a number of deaths in the entertainment industry,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
\u201cAnother thing that keeps appearing is a political assassination, but I do not have further information on this.<\/p>\n
\u201cI feel the country is moving into trouble \u2013 not necessarily warfare, but something big.<\/p>\n
\u201cI also see an industrial strike, tax problems, an increase in crime on the railways and fires in public buildings, among other things.\u201d<\/p>\n
Alex adores this work and said that, as a Gemini, he is drawn towards the puzzling and the mysterious.<\/p>\n
\u201cEven though I have been doing this for many years I am still learning as I go, learning doesn\u2019t come to an end,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
