{"id":123300,"date":"2016-05-30T13:26:49","date_gmt":"2016-05-30T11:26:49","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/germistoncitynews.co.za\/123300\/which-driving-personality-are-you\/"},"modified":"2016-05-30T13:26:49","modified_gmt":"2016-05-30T11:26:49","slug":"which-driving-personality-are-you","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/develop.citizen.co.za\/germiston-city-news\/lifestyle-news\/entertainment-news\/2016\/05\/30\/which-driving-personality-are-you\/","title":{"rendered":"Which driving personality are you?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Driving on South African roads &#8211; be it on country roads, in towns, or being stuck in urban traffic &#8211; can be an exercise in frustration and anger which demands some serious self-control on the part of the driver.<\/p>\n<p>An ongoing study on the social psychology of road safety conducted jointly by <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lse.ac.uk\/home.aspx\" target=\"_blank\">The London School of Economics and Political Science<\/a> (LSE) and tyre manufacturer <a href=\"http:\/\/www.goodyear.eu\/home_en\/\" target=\"_blank\">Goodyear<\/a> has identified seven different driver personality types.<\/p><div class=\"stream-item stream-item-in-post stream-item-inline-post aligncenter\"><\/div>\n<h3>The Teacher<\/h3>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/albertonrecord.co.za\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/35\/2016\/05\/teacher-best.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-109244\" src=\"https:\/\/albertonrecord.co.za\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/35\/2016\/05\/teacher-best-520x394.jpg\" alt=\"Teenage Boy Learning How To Drive\" width=\"520\" height=\"394\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The Teacher needs to make sure other drivers know what they have done wrong and expects recognition of his\/her efforts to teach others.<\/p><div class=\"stream-item stream-item-in-post stream-item-inline-post aligncenter\"><\/div>\n<h3>The Know-it-all<\/h3>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/albertonrecord.co.za\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/35\/2016\/05\/Road-Rage-1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-109110\" src=\"https:\/\/albertonrecord.co.za\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/35\/2016\/05\/Road-Rage-1-520x382.jpg\" alt=\"Road-Rage-1\" width=\"520\" height=\"382\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The Know-it-all: thinks he\/she is surrounded by incompetent fools and contents themselves with shouting condescendingly at other drivers while being protected in their own car.<\/p>\n<h3>The Competitor<\/h3>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/albertonrecord.co.za\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/35\/2016\/05\/driving-fast-637x408.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-109118\" src=\"https:\/\/albertonrecord.co.za\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/35\/2016\/05\/driving-fast-637x408-520x400.jpg\" alt=\"driving-fast-637x408\" width=\"520\" height=\"400\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The Competitor needs to get ahead of all other\u00a0drivers and is annoyed when someone gets in the way of that. He\/she might accelerate when someone tries to overtake them or close a gap to prevent anyone from getting in front of them.<\/p>\n<h3>The Punisher<\/h3>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/albertonrecord.co.za\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/35\/2016\/05\/rr_featured.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-109245\" src=\"https:\/\/albertonrecord.co.za\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/35\/2016\/05\/rr_featured-520x300.jpg\" alt=\"rr_featured\" width=\"520\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The Punisher wants to punish other drivers for any perceived misbehaviour. Escapees distract themselves with selected social relationships so that they do not have to relate to any of the other drivers on the road.
